Azersun Holding plans four enterprises
The Baku-based Azersun Holding plans to launch four production
enterprises in Azerbaijan in 2010, the company’s spokesman has
said.
Afig Safarov told a news conference Monday that one of the enterprises is a cardboard factory planned in the industrial town of Sumgayit, 30 km north of the capital Baku.
Also, Azersun Holding is building the Masazir iodized salt plant in an effort to fully meet the demand of Azerbaijani citizens for this important chemical compound.
One more large-scale project being implemented by the holding is a canned food factory in the Bilasuvar district. According to Safarov, commissioning the facility will allow to fully solve the problem with employment for the residents of four refugee settlements set up in the district. Moreover, the factory will export its products to a number of countries.
Another enterprise, to be launched next year, is a dairy factory in the Kurdamir district. Along with dairy products, it will produce juices and fruit cocktails. The project aims to boost the development of agriculture in the area.
Azersun Holding currently employs 5,000 people.*
