IBA to attend key Islamic banking conference
The International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA), the country`s leading bank, has accepted the invitation to participate in The World Islamic Banking Conference (WIBC) internationally recognized as the largest and most significant gathering of Islamic banking and finance leaders in the world.
More the 1,200 market leaders from 50 countries will gather to discuss perspectives of Islamic Banking and Finance in the world. The 16th Annual WIBC will be held on December 6-8 in Bahrain.
The conference will be a dynamic and interactive discussion of the strategic challenges facing the leadership of Islamic financial institutions. Among important subjects of the workshop will be the world financial crisis, the impact of which has, however, been less significant on Islamic banks in comparison to conventional banks. Islamic banks are less debt-reliant and more dependent on customer deposits for liquidity, which limits their exposure to credit markets.
IBA is participating at the Bahrain event as a WIBC Gold Strategic Partner.
Becoming a Gold Strategic Partner of WIBC 2009 provides a unique and high-profile opportunity for IBA to present comprehensive information about the bank and the implementation of Islamic banking in IBA and explore key business development benefits of Islamic banking in Azerbaijan.
