The Company's project on the occasion of the 1st of June –The International Day for Protection of Children is being organized with the partnership of Park Boulevard
Women’s International Democratic Federation's congress held in 1949 decided to commemorate the 1st of June as The International Day of Protection of Children.
As in the most countries of the world, the day is celebrated in Azerbaijan as well. Staying faithful to its tradition, Azerbaijan’s leading mobile operator Azercell Telecom has conducted a number of events dedicated to The International Day of Protection of Children. The first event took place in Park Boulevard Shopping Centre on May, 26, featuring the thematic sketches by the actors of Pantomime Theatre.
The sketches which aroused great interest among the audience, delivered a message on the importance of elimination of psychological and physical abuse of children and attachment of attention and care towards them. The viewers were handed out blue ribbons, symbolizing the struggle against child abuse and brochures with the instructions on the use of “Children’s Hotline” mobile application initiated by Azercell. Baku residents and guests will have an opportunity to watch these sketches between 19:00-20:00 on June, 1 and between 20:00-21:00 on June, 2-3 at Park Boulevard Shopping Centre, also between 18:00-19:00 on June, 2-3 at Fountains Square.
In its Corporate Social Responsibility policy, Azercell Telecom has always attached great importance to the projects aimed at the protection of children’s rights, as well as their health and education. The Company is the partner of “Children’s Hotline” service which was set up in 2010 with Azercell’s support and receives contribution from the company every year. Azercell also established Mobile Dental Clinic and Mobile Eye Clinic, providing free medical services to the children deprived of parental care and people in need. The Company has been also providing support to Children’s Paralympic Committee for 4 years by this time. The recent social policy of the Company regarding the protection of children’s rights is related to strengthening of cybersecurity for children. Azercell has already taken the necessary technical measures and started providing raising-awareness campaigns on this matter.
