Prices of construction materials falling
Prices for construction materials in Azerbaijan
decreased 26.2% in May as compared to April. The largest reduction
was seen in the prices of imported goods. Whereas a cubic meter of
timber was selling for 250-300 manats ($310-375) earlier, the
figure currently ranges between 170 and 200 manats (up to $250).
The price for construction bricks decreased as well.
According to industry experts, prices for construction materials reduce when production costs of such materials fall, namely, in case of a decrease in the cost-value and sluggish activity in the domestic market, i.e., when the demand for such commodities is low.
The reduction in prices in Azerbaijan`s construction market is related to the lack of activity, the experts said.
