Petkim petrochemical complex’s assets jump

The assets of Turkey’s Petkim petrochemical complex have increased by 14.8 percent.

The company reported that the figure 6.27 billion Turkish lira (official exchange rate on March 3 is 3.6816 TRY/USD) as of January 1, 2017, compared to 5.46 billion lira in 2015.

Petkim's net profit increased by 14.5 percent and reached 731.7 million lira in 2016 as compared to 2015.

Petkim produces plastic packaging, detergents and is the sole Turkish producer of such products.

Petkim shareholders are: SOCAR Turkey Petrokimya A.Ş. – 51 percent, SOCAR Turkey Energy – 1.32 percent and 47.68 percent – in free float.

Direct participation share of SOCAR Turkey Energy in the petrochemical complex decreased to 1.32 percent, after the sale of some 35 million of shares (each for 4.35 Turkish lira ($ 1.40)), while the volume was earlier at the level of 5.32 percent.
