Azerbaijan will hold a presentation of its products for Germany in a bid to expand the range of its exports.

Samir Valiyev, Head of Staff of the Azerbaijani Economic Development Ministry said that the presentation will take place within the framework of the 6th meeting of Azerbaijan-Germany High Level Working Group on Trade and Investment in Baku.

"During the meeting we will also discuss the prospects of cooperation in trade, investment, ecology, education, etc. We would also like to invite German companies to become residents of industrial parks in Azerbaijan," Veliyev said.

The official further added that German companies have invested $405.4 million in the non-oil sector of Azerbaijan.

"Currently, some 169 companies with German capital are operating in Azerbaijan. Investments of German companies in to the capital amounted to $488.3 million, including in the non-oil sector constituted at $405.4 million," he said.

Veliyev added that so far 11 twinning projects have been conducted in Azerbaijan and the implementation of three more projects are underway.

In turn, Eckhard Franz, an official of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, noted that the issues discussed in the framework of the Working Group meeting play a major role in the development of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Over the past two decades, the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Germany have developed into new heights and objectives.

The exchange of official visits and extensive contact of the business community have played an important role towards transforming the bilateral relations between Baku and Berlin from formal and official diplomatic contacts into a strategic partnership that continues to flourish every day.
