The “Art and Chess Festival”, organized by the Baku Chess Olympiad Operating Committee with the support of the Culture and Tourism Ministry on August 27-28 successfully completed in Baku.
Some 23 talented professional artists created spirit of chess, vibrance and creativity by coloring chess pieces and painting unique patterns on them. As a result, every chess piece constitutes a distinct work of art.
The creative work process and colored chess pieces can be seen on the photos posted below.
FIDE’s event, to be held in the country on September 1-14 will gather 2,000 chess masters from 180 countries.
The Olympiad will see 182 men and 142 female teams. The solemn opening will be held on September 1 at the Baku National Gymnastics Arena.
