Armenian people unwilling to die for regime's illegal ambitions

The defense of motherland is the sacred duty of every citizen, but it seems only poor families should guard the state of Armenia.

It is impossible to come cross the relatives of people holding high ranking positions in the state or government in Armenia, while the dead soldiers predominantly come from low-income families.

A lengthy war between Armenia and Azerbaijan broke out in the early 1990s after Armenia laid groundless territorial claims against its neighbor and occupied 20 percent of its territory. The bloody war left thousands of casualties on each side of the frontline.

Armenia's military regime has ignored international calls to withdraw from the occupied territories and continues to uphold its aggressive stance.

The sacrifice in this unnecessary and senseless war for Armenia turned out ordinary citizens of Armenia, who lack any chance to escape and to pay off.

Meanwhile, neither authors nor ideologists have seen battle because they prefer to formulate policy backstage. They continue to maintain tension along the frontline and stage regular provocations.

One Armenian website asked rhetorical question of why should the citizens who defend their country be socially disadvantaged, have daily problems acquiring bread, and somehow find a way to survive? While there are others who escape military service and enjoy their lives just because of their relatives.

Corruption is administrative octopus in Armenia and the criminal regime rules the country.

Recently, Armenia was the subject of a big scandal related to the unprofessional and illegal activities of Armenian military medical board.

The number of recruits asking for help in the Vanadzor office of the Helsinki Citizens' Assembly has increased by almost 1.5 times compared to the previous year.

The Armenian government, which has conducted an aggressive policy towards Azerbaijan by occupying 20 percent of its internationally recognized territories for more than 20 years, is now ready to take every step to keep them.

The current regime seems to lack a young and healthy population and is ready to send ill and physically-disabled men to the frontline.

Regular protests against military crimes in the army and the massive migration of youth once again prove that the Armenian people are unwilling to die for the country’s illegal ambitions.
