Armenian PM angry with his Cabinet
By Victoria Moiseyeva
The Armenian prime minister is very angry with the government inherited from Tigran Sargsyan and plans serious staff changes even.
Hovik Abrahamyan seems to lose the last chances to win the public trust for survival the country's tough economy as his Cabinet is unwilling to help him in it.
Abrahamyan has already organized a second meeting with the entrepreneurs, in particular, with Armenian experts, to discuss new opportunities of Russian market and increase of domestic export on August 15.
During the meeting, businessmen complained to appropriate departments of not cooperating and supporting them and experts.
Examination held at economic departments of the government at Abrahamyan's instruction showed their inactivity.
Armenian products are seemed to stay aboard of the attractive Russian market and it is quite subversive for the producers and exporters of the country which is suffering economic blockade by force of the state power's aggressive policy.
His open outrage after the recent meeting with entrepreneurs is expected to leave definite trace for some members of the government, the Armenian media reports.
The authorities call to get enlarged in the Russia market, which is seeking new exporters after the Western sanctions over the well-known Ukraine events.
Abrahamyan has been largely criticized by the country's leading opposition parties, who blamed the government in "lack of the political will".
"I believe that there are issues that can be solved on one session: for example, transition to 100-percent proportional system of government, the provision of certain functions to opposition," Ruben Akopyan, head of Heritage parliamentary fraction, said.
Akopyan stressed that the government has no political will to take any serious steps to bring the society out of difficult social, economic and moral condition.
Now four leading opposition parties plan to demand from the government the implementation of 12-paragraph requirements, published 2.5 months ago, until September 30. Otherwise, the "quartet" threatens to rally.
Still Akopyan believes that there will be no progress as the government is unwilling to fulfill these 12 paragraphs.
Aram Manukyan, an MP from the Armenian National Assembly, believes that the current state power is the enemy of Armenian's independence.
"The country cannot be independent if its citizens do not want to live there," he stressed.
Manukyan, anyway, hopes to change the current state of things, as generation of independence is still alive.
