National gymnast shine at Open Joint Championships

Azerbaijani gymnasts continue their successes at the Open Joint Azerbaijan Championships in Gymnastics Disciplines.
Ulyana Dyakova and Anatoliy Leonov, performing in the mixed doubles in acrobatics competitions dazzled with their performance.
They took first place on static and tempo exercises, gaining
54,536 points, leaving behind the duo from Bulgaria.
In group competitions on rhythmic gymnastics after performance with
five ribbons Azerbaijan’s first team took third place with 15,783
points. The Russian team led, gaining 18,166 points. Azerbaijan’s
second team placed fourth with 14,800, following France with 16,400
points.
The winner in this category will be announced after performances with three pairs of clubs and two hoops.
Another Azerbaijani gymnast Marina Durunda took second place in the all-around rhythmic gymnastics. After performing with hoop and ball she gained 35,483 points. Russian Yana Kudravceva took first place with 37,999 points, while Nicole Ruprecht from Austria placed third with 34,033 points.
The winners in individual all-around will be announced after performances with clubs and ribbon.
In all-around in acrobatics among women after static and tempo exercises Azerbaijan left behind Germany. Only two teams represented in this category.
Coming from 22 countries, 133 gymnasts are competing for medals both in the all-around and the individual competitions.
Earlier on the same day Azerbaijani gymnasts Pleg Puinov and Sabina Zayceva won second place in the individual trampoline competition.
