Azerbaijan wins another gold medal in Youth Olympic

Azerbaijan's sportsmen are gaining more medals in the second Summer Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China.

In the latest development, two Azerbaijani wrestlers reached the final and Islambek Dadov at 69kg brought the second gold medal for the national team.

Beating all his rivals, Abubekr Alimov from Uzbekistan, Omar Ibrahimi from Egypt and Evgeniy Polivadov from Kazakhstan with the score 3:0, Dadov easily went to the final.

He did not leave any chance to his main rival Mason Manville (USA) in the fight for the gold medal. With the score 3:0 Islambek took his deserved first place.

National wrestler Jabbar Najafov at 50kg defeated his rivals from Turkey, Iran and Moldova. In the final he gave way to Ilhom Bahromov from Uzbekistan and became the winner of the silver medal.

Also, the first bronze medal won Nazim Babayev in the triple jump. In the best attempt he flew 15.96, securing the third place.

Later today, Azerbaijani boxer Tahir Mammadli at 91kg will fight for gaining the bronze medal against Russian Marat Kerimkhanov.

National boxer Rufat Huseynov at 49kg will confront Sulaymon Latipov from Uzbekistan for final boat on August 27.

Azerbaijan's team is going ahead with the Olympic with a haul of two gold taekwondo fighter Said Guliyev, wrestler Islambek Dadov), five silver medals (judo fighter Natig Gurbanli, judo fighter Leyla Aliyeva, taekwondo fighter Ceren Ozbek, rower Boris Yotov and wrestler Jabbar Najafov) and one bronze medal (athlete Nazim Babayev).
