Azerbaijani cyclists are taking part at the "Galychyna-2014" Grand Prix in Lvov, Ukraine.
Members of the national team Sergey Omelchenko and Yelena Pavluxina are competing at this UCI 2 race.
The first day of the Grand Prix has already brought Azerbaijani team one bronze medal. Pavluxina came short of Polish and Ukrainian racers in 10km scratch race. With this third place, she added 48 points to her rating.
These ratings are important for racers ahead of the World Cup in Mexico in November.
Pavluxina will also compete in six stages of omnium race. Omelchenko will also take part in the competition tomorrow. The Grand Prix will wrap up on August 10.
Earlier, Azerbaijani cyclists also obtained good results at the international track cycling championship Panevezys 2014 in Lithuania. The three-day UCI-1 race brought Azerbaijan two gold medals, one silver and one bronze medal.
Omelchenko won the silver medal at the 200-meter sprint race and the bronze medal in Keirin. Pavluxina took the 9th place in omnium of 6 types.
