Int'l bicycle tour to end in Azerbaijani capital

A group of people participating in an international bicycle tour arrived in Azerbaijan through the Mazimchay border checkpoint in Balakan region on July 29.
The bicycle tour, which is supported by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation, started on July 20 in Brussels.
Participants of the bicycle tour left the Belgian city of Bruges, and having crossed such countries as Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey and Georgia, arrived in the South Caucasus republic on July 29.
In Azerbaijan they have met with Youth and Sports Ministry official Ramin Agamaliyev, representatives of the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation, executive authority of the region and staff of the culture and tourism departments of the Balakan Youth and Sports Administration.
The tour participants visited historical and architectural monuments of Balakan and an open-air museum, and familiarized themselves with the improvement work underway in Balakan.
The bicycle tour participants left for Baku by the Sheki-Ismailly-Shamakhy route. The bicycle tour will end at the monument to Heydar Aliyev in the Azerbaijani capital.
The total length of the bicycle tour is 5,555 kilometers. The oldest cyclist is 75 years old and the youngest one is 52.
