Azerbaijani grandmasters enter Top 10 of FIDE Rating List

The World Chess Federation has published the March edition of the FIDE rating list. Magnus Carlsen leads the list with 2,872 points, maintaining the same rating as during the February rating list. There was no change in the order of the top 10 at all.

The leader of the Azerbaijani chess team, grandmaster Teymur Rajabov retained his spot in the new ranking --4th place with 2,793 points.

Azeri grandmasters Shahriyar Mammadyarov and Vugar Hashimov rank the 9th and 19th places in the world rating respectively. Another Azerbaijani chess player Rauf Mammadov appeared at 50th position with 2,662 points.

Eltaj Safarli (2,638), Gadir Huseynov (2,623), Nijat Mammadov (,2602) and Vusal Durarbayli (2,597) remain the same rating.

Also, Gulnar Mammadova remains the status "the best Azerbaijani chess player" with .2360 points.

Azerbaijan ranks the 8th in the rating among countries.
