New football stadium will be constructed in Shamakhi at the initiative of Azerbaijan Association of Football Federations (AFFA) and Shamakhi Executive Power.
The stadium is planned to host over 2,000 people.The tribunes of the main pitch will be covered with a ceiling. Seats for a total of 300 fans will be installed on the artificial turf pitches.
In addition to the main square, the project also includes the construction of two artificial turf pitches.
The running track will be also laid around the main playground.
The construction of the stadium will be funded by the "Hat-Trick" project of UEFA and the AFFA budget.
Formed in 1992, Azerbaijan Association of Football Federations (AFFA) is the governing body of football in Azerbaijan.
The Assosiation is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the amateur and professional game in its territory.
It runs numerous competitions, the most famous of which is the Azerbaijan Cup. AFFA is a member of both UEFA and FIFA.
