On September 21, the sixth day of the 37th World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships ended at the National Gymnastics Arena in the capital of Azerbaijan, Azernews reported.

Today, teams competed performing with balls, hoops and clubs.

The Azerbaijani team was represented by a team in group exercises, which included Ayshan Bayramova, Diana Ahmadbayli, Aliya Pashayeva, Zeynab Hummatova and Daria Sorokina. The national team took the eighth place, scoring 53,100 points, which gave the team a historic opportunity to win a license for the Olympic Games in Tokyo next year.

As many as 24 teams took part in the competition.

The Russian team with 58.700 points became the winner of the program. Japan celebrated silver (58.200), while the team from Bulgaria won a bronze medal (58.000).

In addition, four more teams (Japan, Belarus, Israel and China) received licenses for the 2020 Olympic Games. Recall that during last year's World Championship, Italy, Russia and Bulgaria already secured a license.

Numerous fans of rhythmic gymnastics from around the world were in the stadium to support their teams. The guests from the USA, Israel, Japan, Ukraine, Russia, Italy, North Korea, Bulgaria and of course, local fans were especially supportive of their representatives.

The mascot of the World Championship - Gur-Gur the Frog - continues to give positive emotions to both spectators and gymnasts. Note that the image of Gur-Gur was embodied by two professional actors - Scott Hesington and Barry Anderson.

The 37th Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships are the qualification competition for the Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo next year. More than 300 gymnasts from 61 countries are competing for nine sets of medals. The motto of the championships is “Fairy Tales will come to life".

The 37th Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships will last until September 22.
