Azerbaijani gymnast wins gold in Poland

National eight-year-old gymnast, Mina Abbasova has been awarded a gold medal in the 9th International tournament in rhythmic gymnastics “Golden Club 2018” in Katowice, Poland, on September 15-16.

The tournament brought together 18 gymnasts from various cities of Poland, Hungary, Ukraine Czech Republic, and Belarus.

Mina won the gold medal in the all-around competitions. She held first place with the performance without an object, and ranked second in the competition with a hoop. Thus, Mina managed to win three medals (two gold and one silver) in this competition.

Mina, who previously performed under the flag of Hungary, represents Azerbaijan after the 17th traditional Gracia cup tournament in Budapest this August.

Mina, born in Baku in 2010, is temporarily residing in Budapest in connection with her parents' work.

The young gymnast, who was distinguished by her brilliant performances at all international competitions, started her sports career at the age of five. Abbasova successfully participated in many international competitions in Germany, Serbia, Croatia, Italy and Slovenia. She is engaged in gymnastics for two years at the Russian RG Sport club in Budapest.

She also took first place in Gracia Cup in 2016. So far, Mina has claimed the best title in many competitions around the world.
