Azerbaijani jiu-jitsu fighters have won four medals, including two golds at Abu Dhabi Grand Slam held in the United Arab Emirates.

The gold medals came from Ayaz Suleymanov and Fuad Gadirov in the men’s 94kg and 110kg weight classes respectively, Azertag reported.

Mehman Fatullayev (85kg) grabbed silver, while Ahmad Babayev (77kg) won bronze.

The tournament brought together 2,000 fighters from 100 countries.

Azerbaijan Ju-Jitsu National Federation was established by trainer Mir-Ali Seyidov in 1998.

Since April 20, 2002, the National Federation has been accepted as a member of the JJIF (International Jiu-Jitsu Federation). In 2004, the National Federation receives the official representation of such organizations as the International Martial Arts Association (IABI), the International Organization of Police Self-Defense (IO PSD) and the International Society of Budgets (WBJS).
