The Intercontinental Cup on Wheelchair Dance will kick off in Russia’s Saint Petersburg city on September 9-11.
Azerbaijani Paralympic athletes Vusala Karimova and Farid Mehdiyev will represent the country at the two-day contest, Trend Life reported.
Further, both athletes will leave for Minsk, Belarus. Together with Kamala Babayeva they will compete at the International Contest on Wheelchair Dance and Parachute Jumping to be held on September 13-17.
Notably, the popularization of the parachute jumping sort by wheelchair users has been realized with the initiative of the National Paralympic Committee.
The National Paralympic Committee of Azerbaijan (NPKA) was established in 1996.
The Committee is developing 12 of the 19 Paralympic sports. By the 2020 Paralympics in Tokyo, two sports will also be added to them.
