First winners of the "Youth Cup" , organized by the ‘IRELI' Public Union and the Youth and Sports Ministry, and devoted to the Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games, were named.

The main goal of the project is to promote sports, healthy lifestyle, fruitful leisure among youth, as well as to support the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku.

The first competitions were held on April 15-16. The Island team became first in shooting. The second place went to Rixos, while Slavic Jaguars ranked third.

Black Knights gained the victory in orienteering. The Incomparable team was placed second, while Rixos team ranked third.

In basketball games, teams Boomerang, Incomparable, Dangerous Island. Football - Texno, Slavic Jaguars, Boomerang, Universal, Rixos, Dangerous. Volleyball - Texno Rixos, Paradox, Slavic Jaguars advanced to the next round.

In volleyball games, teams Texno Rixos, Paradox, Slavic Jaguars got further on.

A number of competitions within the Cup are broadcasted through radio IRƏLI Radio (Iradio.az).

The Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games is an exciting multi-sport event uniting the Islamic world, which will take place from 12 – 22 May 2017.

Athletes from Islamic countries around the world will be representing their nations over 10 days of competition across 20 different sports which include 23 disciplines (Athletics and Para Athletics, Aquatics – Diving, Aquatics – Swimming, Aquatics – Water Polo, Basketball 3x3, Football, Gymnastics – Artistic, Gymnastics – Rhythmic, Wushu, Table Tennis, Handball, Judo and Blind Judo, Wrestling – Greco, Wrestling – Freestyle, Shooting, Tennis, Volleyball, Boxing, Zurkhaneh, Karate, Taekwondo and Weightlifting) in 16 world-class sporting venues in Baku.

Azerbaijan’s capital city Baku was awarded the Games at the General Assembly of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) in Jeddah in July 2013.
