Azerbaijani freestyle wrestlers will compete in an international tournament to be held in Bunyak, Dagestan on October 29-30.
At the tournament, the country will be represented by eight wrestlers.
Wrestling remains the most popular sport in the county and is overseen by the National Wrestling Federation, which was established in 1993.
Based on the ancient and historic roots of wrestling in Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani wrestling school has become well established throughout the country.
The Rio Games opened a new page in wrestling for Azerbaijan. The country sent 14 athletes to Rio, who secured nine medals in Summer Olympics.
