Kazakhstan records rise in revenues of local airlines

Incomes of Kazakhstan's airlines increased by 25 percent in January-April, 2016 compared to the same period in 2015. The gain amounted to 62 billion tenge ($ 0.18 billion), Energyprom.kz reports.

As much as 97.5 percent of the total income falls to a share of passenger transportation while 2.5 percent accounts for the cargo and baggage transportation.

The share of passenger transportation in the air traffic increased by 24.9 percent per year, while the increase in the sphere of freight transportation amounted to 17.4 percent.

The number of passengers transported in the reported period increased by 6.6 percent and amounted to 1.69 million. The total number of transported passengers by all means of transport increased by 2.1 percent.

Air transportation of passengers in Kazakhstan displays annual growth by 9-11 percent.

Freight and baggage transportation in January-April 2016 decreased by 5.4 percent compared to the same period in the last year. The latest figure in the sphere of cargo and baggage transportation amounts to approximately 5,000 tons. The total volume of freight transportation by all means of transport decreased by 0.5 percent in the reported period.
