Turkmenistan upgrades polypropylene terminal

The modernization of the specialized terminal for storage and shipment of polypropylene is planned within the framework of the new Turkmenbashi international sea trade port’s construction project in Turkmenistan.
This project was presented to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during his recent acquaintance with the Turkmenbashi port’s construction process, Turkmen Oil and Gas Ministry reported on February 18.
The new terminal in an area of 62,000 square meters will be designed for the storage and shipment of up to 120,000 tons of products per year, said the ministry.
The extended berth with the length of 750 meters will allow implementing the simultaneous maintenance of three ships with deadweight of five tons each.
Polypropylene is one of the main oil products produced at the largest oil refinery in Turkmenbashi.
Japan, Russia, Turkey, Iran, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and other countries buy polypropylene from Turkmenistan.
