The official rate of the Uzbek sum, determined by the country’s Central Bank, declined by 16 percent against dollar in 2015 -- from 2422.40 sums per dollar on January 1, 2015 to 2809.98 sums per dollar on January 1, 2016.

In 2014, the national currency of Uzbekistan fell by 10 percent – from 2202.20 sums per dollar to 2422.40 sums and in 2013 - by 10.9 percent - from 1985.46 to 2202.20 sums per dollar.

The devaluation rate in Uzbekistan against dollar intensified since early October.

A number of independent experts think that such an intense decline in the Uzbek national currency is caused by the influence of general crisis in the world economy, in particular by the sharp depreciation of the national currencies in major trading partners of Uzbekistan - Russia and Kazakhstan.

The euro exchange rate decreased by 2.9 percent by the end of 2015 - to 3074.19 sum per euro (2987.74 sums in 2014).

The exchange against the Russian ruble increased by 28.5 percent - to 65.14 sum in 2014.

Regarding the Chinese yuan, sum fell by 7.2 percent last year - from 363.17 sum/yuan to 389.33 sums / yuan in 2014.
