Georgia discusses situation in Abkhazia
A meeting of the Security and Crisis Management Council was held
in Georgia, chaired by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
The council members discussed the current processes in the country,
the situation in the regions and security issues, the Georgian
government told Trend.
The situation in Abkhazia and the possibility of concluding an
agreement on partnership and integration between Russia and
Abkhazia were discussed during the meeting.
The council members discussed all possible options of events and
the government's response mechanisms.
Following the meeting in connection with this issue, the foreign
ministry issued a statement, which was agreed with the council.
Georgia's Chairman of the Council Mindia Janelidze, Defense
Minister Irakli Alasania, Interior Minister Alexander Chikaidze,
Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze, State Minister for Reconciliation
and Civic Equality Paata Zakareishvili, First Deputy Foreign
Minister David Zalkaliani and Prime Minister's special
representative for relations with Russia Zurab Abashidze attended
the meeting.
