Moscow, Tbilisi prepare for talks in Prague
The next meeting of the Georgian Prime Minister's special
representative for relations with Russia, Zurab Abashidze, and
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin will be held in
Prague on October 16.
"The trade and humanitarian issues will be the main topics of
discussion," Abashidze said.
He noted that the implementation of the association agreement with
the EU, an agreement on the establishment of the unified armed
forces between Moscow and Sukhumi, constructing a road from
Dagestan to the Georgian region of Kakheti will be discussed.
"The Georgian side believes that these agreements do not pose any
threat to Russia," Abashidze said. "A free trade regime between
Russia and Georgia will be restored."
However, he did not rule out that the sides may discuss the
restoration of a railway through Abkhazia.
