Kazakhstan to submit draft law on business ombudsman in fall
By Aynur Jafarova
Kazakhstan will submit a draft law on establishing a business ombudsman to the parliament in autumn.
The news was announced by Chairman of the Board of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs (NCE) Ablay Myrzakhmetov.
"The National Chamber took the initiative to establish a business ombudsman in the country, which will protect entrepreneurs' interests at the state level. The head of the state supported this idea," he said last week.
Kazakhstan is firmly committed to boosting its economic power in the coming years, and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has instructed the government to adopt a law aimed at attracting new investments.
The country plans to take several measures such as establishing unilateral visa-free requirements for most of the developed countries for a period of 90 days, providing investor visas for the heads of structural departments in foreign companies, and introducing the one-stop shop principle to investors.
Since February 2014 and as a result of the audit of legislation
to cancel inert regulations preventing the development of business,
some 410 amendments have been made to the existing legislation, 239
of which have already been approved.
A single law, 'On the Permissions and Notifications', notes that
all the permissions and notifications can be approved only by the
law.
The Council for entrepreneurs' rights protection protect the rights
of businessmen in Kazakhstan at the moment.
