Iran, Netherlands can deepen politico-economic ties

Iranian Parliamentary Speaker Ali Larijani, in a meeting with Dutch Ambassador to Tehran Johannes Douma, said a ground for politico-economic ties between the two countries is ready.
Larijani said the old historical connections between Iran and the Netherlands could be an appropriate ground for developing political and economic, especially parliamentary ties, IRNA news agency reported on June 17.
Referring to the role of the European Union in developing ties with Iran, Larijani stressed that there is great trade and economy capacity in Iran and the EU can play a useful role in developing politico-economic relations with Iran.
Douma, for his part, expressed hope for positive trend of talks between Iran and the P5+1 and said that comprehensive agreement can remove obstacles on the way of developing trade and economic ties.
He said constant consultations between parliaments of the two countries for promotion of relations level are necessary, adding that parliamentary shuttles can lead to cultural development and increase in two nations' relations.
