The NYK Group, a world leader in the field of transportation, will construct a vehicle logistics center in Astana, Kazakhstan.

The Japanese company will also examine the possibility of organizing car transportation through Khorgos-East Gate free economic zone.

The investor is currently seeking a land plot in Astana, Trend Agency quoted Kaznex Invest National Export and Investment Agency as saying.

Kaznex Invest has organized meetings between the NYK Group and Astana's Investor Service Center, and applied to the land committee for a land plot in a long-term lease.

The project is worth $5 million.

Having built a chain of terminals, the NYK Group intends to create an effective car distribution system in Kazakhstan.

The NYK Group has already invested in car terminals in Almaty by acquiring a 100 percent share in Tranko-Terminal, the largest terminal and logistics operator in Kazakhstan

The company operates under the new name of NYK Auto Logistics (Kazakhstan) LLP.

The company is the main provider of logistics services for Toyota Motors Kazakhstan, Mitsubishi Motor Kazakhstan, and Suzuki Motor RUS companies.

Given the increase in vehicle sales in Kazakhstan, the company plans to meet the expected sale demands and speed up vehicle delivery to dealers in the country.

The NYK Group also aims to use Kazakhstan's transit potential and organize the transportations through China, where the company has made significant investments in a number of large logistic projects.
