Tehran has hosted a trilateral meeting among the heads of Iranian, Turkmen and Uzbek railway administrations.
During the meeting, Iranian Railways Company's managing director Mohsen Pourseyed Aghaie said the volume of goods which is transited among the three countries is around 1.6 million tons per year, IRIB reported.
The figure is expected to rise to 3 million tons this year, he added.
Considering the rail connections between the three countries, and that they all use the International Railway Transit Tariff (MTT), each of the countries can reduce transit tariffs by a certain amount, he explained.

Currently, work is underway to link the railways of Iran and Turkmenistan.
