Georgia among countries with average income level: WB

Georgia is among the countries with average income level, the World Bank (WB) Regional Director for the South Caucasus Henry Kerali said.
"However it is important for the country not to stay in this trap," Kerali said during the opening of the Innovations Week held at the 'Expo Georgia' exhibition centre on April 24.
He stressed that this event is once again shows that Georgia has very great potential in development of innovations and technologies.
"Focusing on innovations is a necessity, but not a luxury," Kerali said. "This will really provide the country with an opportunity to take a place in a competitive economy, and a competitive environment will make it possible to create new jobs."
He also said the WB will continue supporting Georgia's innovations sector in the current financial year.
