Eurasian Media Forum due in Astana

The 12th Eurasian Media Forum will be held in Astana, Kazakhstan on April 24-25, AzerTag state news agency reported.

The key topics of the upcoming Forum are: New global order or inevitability of World War 3, Iran`s nuclear programme, Non-expiring Middle-Eastern torch, The clash of ambitions in Ukraine, the 'apple of discord' between Russia and West, and Eurasian integration.

The 2013 forum was attended by 600 delegates from 46 countries and covered more than 350 local and foreign media.

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed the importance of the media as "a unifying influence in society".

"The Forum itself had already made a unique contribution to international understanding and to Eurasian integration, through its open exchange of views involving the media. It was now one of the leading regional dialogue platforms. Dialogue in the 21st century is an important tool for the new phenomenon of globalization, which was called by some experts as megadiplomacy," Nazarbayev said.
