Kazakhstan will construct a plant in the Mangistau region for production of equipment for the oil and gas companies, the akimat (city hall) told Trend Agency on March 21.

"It is planned to lay the foundations of the enterprise in May 2014 and to begin construction of a new plant in June," akimat said. "Some 100 hectares of land were allotted on the Aktau Seaport special economic zone for this project."

Spanish holding Ros Roca Group will conduct the plant construction. Together with the Samruk-Kazyna Company, the Spanish holding is investing 534 million euros in the construction.

The Spanish investor plans to produce generators, motors and compressors for oil production in Aktau. It will be also engaged in servicing the products.

The new plant also plans to produce gas engines for ships.

Another motor building unit will produce power units for transport, gas turbines and equipment for liquefied natural gas.
