Kazakhstan applies moratorium on enterprise inspection

A moratorium on inspections of small and medium-sized businesses will not affect all organizations in Kazakhstan, deputy chairman of board of the Kazakh National Chamber of Entrepreneurs Zangar Nogaybay said at a briefing in Astana on February 28.

"The financial organizations, enterprises operating in the field of nuclear energy, arms trafficking, and explosives will be inspected," he said. "Thus, the matter rests in the facilities related to ensuring public safety."

These inspections will be carried out only upon a decision of heads of central and local state bodies and only in coordination with the Attorney General's Office, he added.

Nogaybay reminded that President Nursultan Nazarbayev declared a moratorium on inspections of small and medium-sized businesses from April 2, 2014 to January 2015.

"From now on, all efforts of state agencies and the Kazakh National Chamber of Entrepreneurs will be directed for the Kazakh president's instruction on business protection to be implemented," he said.
