Turkmenistan plans to commission new cotton-spinning factories in the near future, Trend Agency quoted the Turkmen Textile Industry Ministry on January 28.

"Two new factories with the annual capacity of 6,000 tons of cotton yarn are located in the city of Seidi in Lebap province and in the Kunyaurgen district of Dashoguz province, where the pre-commissioning works have entered the final stage," the ministry said.

A cotton-spinning factory in the Turkmenabat city with the design capacity of about 4,000 tons of yarn per year is also in the pre-commissioning stage.

These facilities are being constructed by Norsel International Insaat Dis Ticaret Sanayi Limited, which will commission them in February, 2014.

The largest cotton-spinning factories in Turkmenistan were commissioned over the last three years in Turkmenabat, Dashoguz, Geoktepe, and a textile complex was commissioned in the Rukhabat district of Ashgabat.

Turkmenistan's cotton growers have delivered over 50 percent of the planned cotton volume worth 1.05 million tons since late August 2013.
