Kazakhstan, Luxembourg discuss prospects of bilateral cooperation

Chairman of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament Kairat Mami received the Ambassador of Luxembourg Pierre Ferring, the Senate said on Thursday.

During the meeting they discussed the current issues of bilateral cooperation in political, trade and economic spheres.

They noted that the confidential dialogue is established at the highest level, and the contacts are maintained at the level of governments and businesses.

According to Mami, an important component of interstate cooperation is a dialogue between parliamentarians of the two countries. The Senate of the Kazakh Parliament is interested in establishing closer contacts with the Parliament of Luxembourg, as well as in the development of multilateral contacts within the international inter-parliamentary organizations such as the Parliamentary Assemblies of the OSCE and NATO.

In addition, the development of bilateral cooperation with Luxembourg is important for Kazakhstan in the context of strategic partnership with the European Union, the statement said with the reference to Mami.

According to Ferring, Kazakhstan is a key partner of Luxembourg in the region, and Luxembourg is interested in expanding cooperation with the country.

According to him, Luxembourg can be a good platform to attract international investment in Kazakhstan.
