Georgian, Iranian FMs discuss ways to intensify economic relations
Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze met with her Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif within the framework of the 68th Session of the UN General Assembly.
The sides discussed bilateral relations, the Foreign Ministry said.
Special attention was paid to economic and cultural issues.
After the meeting Panjikidze said Iran is Georgia's neighbour and therefore the economic and cultural relations are well developed between the two countries.
"A lot of Iranians visit Georgia," Panjikidze said. "They are interested in our country not only for tourism, but also for business. We are actually neighbours and have quite intense relationships."
