NATO starts summer courses in Georgia

Summer courses began at the Sachkhere Mountain Training base of Georgia on Sept.2.

The Georgian Defense Ministry reported that the future Georgian instructors together with the servicemen from the Czech Republic, Armenia and Hungary are involved in the exercises.

The two-week exercises within NATO "Partnership for Peace" program consist of four phases. In the first stage, participants will practice already mastered skills and will be trained in mountain climbing.

It is planned to climb to a 4,100-meter peak in the Kazbegi region in the second stage. In the third stage, participants will take part in shooting practice at the Abuli high-mountain base. Finally, all participants will be tested.

The two-week interim summer course will end at Sachkhere base on Sept. 27.
