Iran's new home-made submarine's construction is nearing completion, Iranian commander Khadem Bigham .

Bigham informed that the construction process of Fateh submarine runs normally and is nearing completion, Fars news agency reported.

Fateh submarine will be delivered to the Iranian Navy in the near future, he pointed out.

Earlier, Iranian Navy Commander Habibollah Sayyari informed of the country's plan for unveiling a new submarine.

"Fateh submarine, Kaman-class missile-launcher warships and Jamaran 2 destroyer will become operational in the current year," Rear Admiral Sayyari said.

In March, Iran launched the locally manufactured Jamaran-2 destroyer in the Caspian Sea. Jamaran-2, a Mowj-class warship, has been designed and built by Iranian experts and has state-of-the-art navigation equipment and complex defense systems.

Besides, Iran launched its overhauled and modernized destroyer named Bayandor in the Southern waters of the country.

Army officials said the Iranian Navy's power of safeguarding the country's territorial waters as well as maintaining security in regional and international waters will increase after the launch of Bayandor.

In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems.
