Russia will start supplying weaponry and military equipment for Kyrgyzstan's armed forces in 2014, Russian Defense Minister, Army General Sergey Shoygu said during his meeting with Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev on Tuesday.
It is not defined what exactly Russia will supply to Kyrgyzstan, however in November, 2012, Russian Kommersant newspaper wrote that Moscow promised $1.1 billion to Bishkek for rearmament of the Kyrgyz army. It was about military support to the country.
During his meeting with Kyrgyz president, Shoygu said Russia is considering a support program for equipping the Kyrgyz army and practically everything is ready for it.
"I think we will soon conclude the concordance of last formalities," he said.
Shoygu visited Kyrgyzstan to attend the meeting of defense ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization which will be held in Bishkek on June 26.Here we are to serve you with news right now. It does not cost much, but worth your attention.
