Georgia will not negotiate over the purchase of weapons during Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili's visit to Israel, Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze told reporters in Jerusalem on June 25.

She accompanies Ivanishvili during a two-day visit.

She confirmed that Ivanishvili plans to discuss bilateral cooperation issues in the defense sector.

"The acquisition of weapons will not be discussed," Panjikidze said.

According to the Israeli media, the Israeli-Georgian cooperation on arms sales is being resumed after a five year break. In particular, Georgia is interested in purchasing Israeli drones, as well as anti-tank missiles.
