Kazakhstan wants to improve position in WB rating on construction permits

Kazakhstan must improve the position in the World Bank rating 'Doing Business' on the index for obtaining construction permits, President Nursultan Nazarbayev has said at a meeting of the Entrepreneurs Council.

Kazakhstan ranks 150 out of 185 countries in the WB rating on the index for obtaining permits for construction. "We must consider this issue and improve the figures," the president said.

"Aspects of regulation and permanent reduction of the permit system is important," Nazarbayev said. "For example it is necessary to obtain 32 permissions to deal with the construction works in Kazakhstan against six in Hong Kong."

Nazarbayev said that real estate investors are appearing in Astana and the state should be responsible for them because of the increased property prices.
