Kazakh president urges to restore order in SME audits

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed the need to restore order in audits of small and medium-sized enterprises.

"The state must abandon an archaic habit to control everything and everywhere," Nazarbayev said at a meeting of the Entrepreneurs Council on Wednesday. "This also concerns private entrepreneurship. This creates additional costs for business and the opportunities for corruption."

He added that only the quality, product safety, compliance with legislative norms must be controlled by the state.

"Food, medicaments must be controlled," he said. "Other spheres must be controlled. The state task is to develop and establish the quality standards for products and services, technical indices, regulations on safety."

He said that at present, the country bans checking the entrepreneurs for the first three years of their activity.

"Kazakhstan is the leader of reforms to simplify the conditions for establishing and holding business," he said. "The work is underway in the law enforcement system to reduce pressure on the business. The frequency of tax reporting has been reduced for individual entrepreneurs."

"It is necessary to change the legislation, which facilitates the introduction of electronic invoicing," the president said.

"This will be done," he said. "This innovation will save more than 5 billion tenge for Kazakh business."

In general, the state support for entrepreneurs acquires a very great shape and purpose. More than $ 300 billion, of which over 170 billion - foreign have been invested in the economy during the independence period.

"There are concrete results," he said. "For example, some 3,000 entrepreneurial projects on the road map of business were supported. All this cost the state 78 billion tenge."
