Iran’s central province exports surge

Some 760,000 tons of goods worth over $827.3 million were exported from Iran's central Markazi province in the previous Iranian calendar year, which ended on March 20, head of the province's costumes administration Ravanbakhs Rafi'eizadeh said on Sunday.

The figures showed 60 and 90 per cent increases in terms of weight and value respectively, IRNA news agency quoted Ravanbakhs Rafi'eizadeh as saying.

Iraq, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, China, and South Korea were the main destination markets for the goods exported from Markazi province, Rafi'eizadeh added.

He went on noting that chemicals, cement, agricultural products, fishery, and ornamental flowers were the province's main exported items.

Some 439,000 tons of non-oil goods worth $514 million were exported from Markazi province in the previous year, he said.
