Kazakh border service academy chief’s death cause announced
The Kazakh Chief Military Prosecutor's Office announced the cause of death of the chief of the Border Service Academy of the National Security Committee, Major General Esetov Talgat Malgajdarovich.
"All the evidence collected on the case enables us to ascertain that Esetov died as a result of suicide committed using his government-issue weapon," the report says.
The cause of suicide according to the investigators was due to being in an intense emotional state caused by being under suspicion of abuse of power.
The investigation of the criminal case on Esetov's suicide continues.
Esetov's body with a gunshot wound through the right temporal region of the head was found in his office on Jan.31, 2013.
The Chief Military Prosecutor's Office of Kazakhstan also reported that the National Security Committee is investigating the criminal case concerning the illegal use of authority by Border Service officials when organising repair and maintenance of aircrafts.
Investigations in this case showed up the involvement of individual current and former executives of the Border Service, including Esetov, to accept bribes from representatives of Ukrainian enterprises.
