Iranian speaker urges to set up special body to fight corruption
Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani has said that a special
organization should be established to combat major economic
corruptions in the country, Trend news agency reported referring to
IRNA agency.
The organization should be a subsidiary of the Judiciary System and
all intelligence and law enforcement units should support it, he
noted.
"Major economic corruption cases are usually linked with elements
of power in countries," he said, adding that tough punishments are
considered for such crimes.
Iran has risen from 146th on the list of 183 countries to 120th in
Transparency International's Corruption Perception Index 2011,
showing a tremendous breakthrough in fighting corruption and
advancing the good governance.
