Iran warns of attack on U.S. military bases

Iran warned that it may attack the military bases of the U.S. worldwide with a view of defense, Fars news agency reported referring to Iranian Deputy Parliamentary Security Commission Chairman Mohammad Ismail Kovseri.

"If the U.S. plane which violated Iran's airspace was military one, the situation in the region would be quite different, and Iran would attack the U.S. military bases worldwide," Kovseri said.

The Islamic Republic of Iran protested the "violation of Iran's airspace by a U.S. spy drone on Dec. 4," the day Iranian forces claimed to have shot down the aircraft, 140 miles inside the Iranian border from Afghanistan.

Iran in a letter to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, UN General Assembly and UN Security Council called for condemning the violation of Iran's airspace by the US spy drone while strongly criticizing the US government.

Kovseri blamed the international community for being indifferent to this incident.

"If Iranian planes violated the U.S. airspace, how many meetings would the U.N. Security Council hold and impose sanctions against Iran?" he said.

Once again he repeated the Iranian position, that in case of any attack on the country, Iran will defend itself not only within the country's borders.
