Belarus thanks China for helping stabilize economic situation
Belarus appreciates China’s suggestions to stabilize the macroeconomic situation, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China Wu Bangguo on Monday, BelTA reported.
Alexander Lukashenko praised considerable efforts of the experts of the People’s Bank of China. Many of their recommendations were taken into consideration by Belarusian decision-makers.
The President pointed to the vigorous trade, economic and investment cooperation with China. China has provided billions of preferential loans and direct investments to modernize the Belarusian economy and introduce cutting-edge technologies and innovations.
The head of state expressed confidence that the ongoing visit of Wu Bangguo will become a landmark event in the history of Belarus-China relations. In his words, the agreements and contracts signed a day before will become a springboard for breakthrough projects.
Lukashenko believes that the launch of Belarus’ first communication satellite and creation of the China-Belarus industrial cluster will lay a solid foundation for long-standing partnership in high-tech field and will become a kind of visiting card of China in Europe.
