Kurdish rebels are training in Armenia - military official
TEHRAN – Militants of the PKK terror group’s wing based in Iran are training in neighboring Armenia, semi-official Iranian news agency Mehr quoted a local military official as saying.
Large-scale operations have been carried out in Iran in past days to crack down on the members of Iran's Party of Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK).
Iranian army colonel Aziz Hasan-Agdam told Mehr that PJAK, having suffered a crushing defeat in the south of the Western Azerbaijan province, fled to the northern part of the province.
"Also, a group of the terror organization’s members are undergoing training in some locations in Armenia," Hasan-Agdam said, adding, "We are ready to repel any attack in the borderline areas."
