Davutoglu plans to attend funeral of Turkish girl killed in Norway shooting

ANKARA – Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has said he plans to pay a visit to Norway in the coming days and attend the funeral of a Turkish girl who was killed in the shooting on Utoya Island last week, AssA-Irada’s Dursun Ozden reports.

Norwegian authorities earlier on Monday informed Gizem Dogan's family that their daughter was among the 68 victims who were shot dead by Anders Behring Breivik, who has confessed to committing the shooting and the bombing in Norway that killed 76 people.

"I had plans already to pay a visit to my Norwegian counterpart to express our solidarity and I would like to attend the funeral ceremony as well if I could," Davutoglu told reporters.

A funeral service will be held next Monday for the 17 year-old Turkish girl.
